Fugro Loadtest has been providing O-Cell bi-directional static load testing for over 30 years since its initial development by Prof J. Osterberg.

The O-Cell technology has been developed for use in many foundation types: bored piles, CFA piles, driven piles, precast piles and barrettes for loading parallel to the axis using one of multiple O-Cell configurations at one or more levels. It has also been used individually or in multiples to provide horizontal full scale loading to determine lateral modulus.

We also provide the full service from advice, testing solutions and equipment for performing traditional pile load tests where the load is applied to the pile head under anchor based reaction systems or kentledge or lateral tests.

Our automatic logging systems are compatible with an extensive range of instrumentation systems which may be used within the foundation under test. From extensometers, fixed, embedded or removable, pressure gauges, strain gauges, temperature sensors to inclinometer strings.

With such high quality data recorded, several proprietry methods have been developed to aid interpretation of pile behaviour under load. This has resulted in numerous commissions as expert witness and consultancy.

This technology used for pile testing of combining intruments, from single sensors to a range of complex and multiple sensors is regularly provided to structural and geotechnical monitoring programs.

Our commitment to deep foundation monitoring and ensuring the quality of the construction/installation has led to the development of the Sonic Calliper and the RIM-cell while providing the latest quality control tests such as integrity testing, high strain dynamic load testing and pile driving analysis as well as drivability predictions.
